Top 5 Wednesday: Things That Bring Us Joy

Top 5 Wednesday from Goodreads

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly book meme brought by T5W on Goodreads.

Happy February! (Also, does anyone else ALWAYS misspell February on the first try?)

So, a month or so ago, I started lurking over at the Top 5 Wednesday group on Goodreads. This month, I decided to go ahead and jump on the wagon, and I'm very excited about the upcoming topics for February.

I love today's topic, which is Current Favorites that Aren't Books. We're all obsessed with books, of course, or should be, and sometimes we probably need to take a break and talk about some of those other things we've been loving.

Also, I don't know about you, but 2017 has been pretty rough so far (remember when we thought 2016 was as bad as it could get?) and I enjoy the opportunity to focus on things that bring me joy.

1. Grey's Anatomy

I watched the first 5 seasons or so of Grey's Anatomy as they aired, and then I kind of lost track. Once I got behind, I also got spoiled for who died, who broke up or got together, who abandoned Meredith, and then I felt like I couldn't watch it anymore.

Well, I finally picked it back up again, and I'm so glad I did. I love the story lines, the drama, the humor. Also, if I just need a good cry, it's never hard to find something to lean into.

As I wait for 13 to come on Netflix, I restarted from season one.

SO MUCH CRYING.

But you know what comes after the crying? The catharsis.

2. LuLaRoe

Some of my friends have been obsessed with LuLaRoe for a while, and I could never quite figure it out. I got invited to Facebook events, but never knew what I was supposed to do. But they always looked so cute and comfortable!

Well, a friend hosted a party around my birthday and I bought my first Perfect T and Irma. And just a week ago, I finally found my first pair of leggings. It's about as basic as I could get, but they're cute gray/green leggings with freaking birds on them. And once I touched them, once I put them on, I realized I don't want to wear anything else.

3. Dogs on Skateboards

I mean, really, dogs on anything. On couches, on porches, on treats, on their bellies, jumping up on me. I'm one of those people who are incapable of pointing out a dog when I see a dog. And if I think too much about my own dogs, or just dogs in general, I can get teary eyed about it. I mean, really, what did we do to deserve dogs?

I HOPE YOU'RE READY

Oh god, that tongue!

4. Plants

I love plants. Outdoor plants, indoor plants. Leggy plants and bushy plants and flowering plants and cascading plants. I do wish my succulents could stay alive a little longer in my house (why do they suddenly shrivel up and die no matter what I do?!) and that my orchid would bloom again (seriously, it's been like two years since it bloomed, even though it makes leaves all the damn time). But hooray for plants, yeah? Gorgeous, living things.

This succulent died of course.

Porch plants I adopted and brought back to life (mostly).

Okay, so this is a tree yes, but look at its gorgeous bloom!

5. Nachos

This might just be making the list because I'm starving right now and nachos are all I can think about. But also I am convinced that nachos are one of the finest forms of food out all forms of food. You can literally put anything you want to on some tortilla chips and have the best thing you've ever eaten in your life.

I did a search for nachos but I got too hungry to pick one, so here's this gif instead:

And also this one:

And that's a wrap (and a chip!). What do you think? Do any of my top 5 match your top 5? Let me know on Twitter!
