Top 5 Wednesday: Top SFF on My TBR

Top 5 Wednesday from Goodreads

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly book meme brought by T5W on Goodreads.

In a Top 5 Wednesday about a month ago, I talked about my favorite science fiction and fantasy novels. It was for a Booktube SFF Awards crossover post in anticipation of the awards. We still have about two months of readalongs before those winners are announced, and today we're doing another crossover post to talk about those SFF novels still on our TBR!

Last time, when I wrote about my all-time favorite SFF (more F than SF, tbh), I tried to step back a little and write about books other than my favorite YA fantasy. Today, I'm mostly embracing them. (Last time, my Top 5 also got completely out of hand, so I'm also trying to stick to the rules here.)

Probably unsurprisingly, most of these still fall into more of the F than the SF. You'll also find one of the semi-finalists on this list!

This is a new release, part of The Star-Touched Queen universe. I got this on pre-order, and I'm trying to stay away from reviews or any hype over this; I think I've done a good job of hyping it up for myself.

I'm going to tackle Crooked Kingdom for the #TomeTopple readathon April 7-20, where everyone will simply try to read big books (anything over 500 pages counts). Interested in joining us? Read more about the event on their Goodreads page here.

All The Birds in the Sky by Charlie Jane Anders is probably the most SF of all the books on my list. It's about the end of the world, and magic, and love, and who could resist that?

The current reviews for this April 2017 release are a little mixed, but I cannot wait for this Mindy McGinnis fantasy about...a girl on the brink of a watery grave? I don't even know what to make of the synopsis, I just know I'm crazy excited about it.

Definitely more F than SF. I'm sad that this one will (probably?) be the last in this series. I know there will be three more novels set in this world but...WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? Like, for my life. Does it mean a book about where Amren comes from? (Please?) Mostly, though, I just need to know.

And there's my list! I'd love to know what you think, and to read your own Top 5 Wednesday if you wrote one! Leave a comment and a link to your page!
