Top 5 Wednesday: SF & F Book Covers

Top 5 Wednesday from Goodreads

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly book meme brought by T5W on Goodreads.

This week is another Booktube SFF Awards crossover post. You can read my other awards here and here. We've talked about the top 5 SFF books on our TBR and our top 5 favorite science fiction and fantasy novels ever. In an interesting twist, today we're talking about our favorite SFF covers. (Did you read my Top Ten Tuesday yesterday, also on book covers? I wrote about beards in that one.)

In no particular order, here are 5 of my favorite science fiction and fantasy book covers. And, in full disclosure, I'm picking covers only of books I've actually read. There are so. many. awesome science fiction covers, but I feel bad picking them because I haven't read them yet!

This cover just gives me shivers. I don't actually own a physical copy of it, but I want to remedy that as soon as I can. I love the starkness of it, it's so gorgeous and ominous.

I probably could have picked any cover of 1984, tbh, but I think this probably the most terrifying. The colors, the font, the newspaper print in the letters, that dead-but-ever-watching eye.

The stupid "Now on Hulu!" sticker up in the corner does take away a little, but I think this is such a smart cover, especially after you've read it and fully understand what all the parts represent.

ALL OF THE VERSIONS OF THIS BOOK COVER ARE GORGEOUS AND MAGICAL. Like, every single one. GIVE THEM ALL TO ME. I WANT TO DISPLAY THEM EACH AND EVERY ONE. thanks.

Sigh. I love every single one of Rosamund Hodge's covers. I can just sit in agony thinking about them. Those endless stairs. That red red cloack. The trees and the fog.

And there you go. I've hoped we're all feeling good and awkward now! Do we have any overlapping cover obsessions? Let me know below!

Or feel free to check out more Top 5 Wednesday posts!
