Top 10 Tuesday: Stick-In-Your-Bag Summer Reads

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke & The Bookish.
Happy almost summer! In the United States, Memorial Day is the sort of unofficial summer kickoff, and everyone wants to take great laze-away-the-days beach reads, or poolside reads.
Between work and being sick the past few weeks, I've gotten quite behind on my blogs, but I was very excited for this Top Ten Tuesday because I love thinking about lazy summer days and fantasizing about reading in hammocks or beach chairs or anywhere that's cool and breezy (even it's just in my own house in the A/C).
But also! This month, Sam and I went to England to celebrate our wedding anniversary and also to visit with his family (half of his family is British). I only brought one hard-back book with me to read, but I also made sure that my Kindle was loaded up with some great fun vacation reads as well as some of my most anticipated eARCs.
Wanna know what I included? Then keep reading! (Note: For whatever it's worth, at the time of writing/publication of this post, we're still on our trip, so I'm still reading some of these and will probably write a follow-up!)

I got an eARC of this one, and I just recently finished it. I loved it so much. It's not a classic summer read, but it is both fun and sweet and so easy to lose yourself in. It comes out July 4th--be on the lookout for my full review!

I bought this book solely because Geekerella is one of my top reads of the year and I just really wanted to read another Ashley Poston book. I've started reading The Sound Of Us in the evenings and it's not as cutesy as Geekerella, but I'm definitely enjoying it so far. I love that it's based in South Carolina, and the main character has just left to go on a summer vacation to Myrtle Beach, where I lived as a kid!

Girl Out of Water came out in early May, and I've been pretty excited to read this YA contemporary. It's also a summer book, so I'm definitely picking this one up at the right time.

I have this as an eARC and I'm about halfway through. I absolutely love the voice of this book, and have loved it from the first sentence.

I preordered Strange The Dreamer and I love, love, love the writing in this newest Laini Taylor novel. Why haven't I already finished it, then? I think maybe it's because I don't want it to be over! Either way, it's a great one to lose your time in, which is what vacation reading is all about, I think.

Somewhere along the way Kasie West became one of my favorite contemporary authors. I read both of these on the first travel day of my trip. I'd already started The Fill-In Boyfriend and finished it at the Atlanta airport. I was so glad I'd picked up On The Fence, and also enjoyed it. Reviews forthcoming!

I read these three recently, but couldn't not include them on this list. Tessa Dare is definitely one of my favorite recent finds and I can't believe it took me so long to read her. If you're a fan of historical romance, and haven't yet read any of her books, do yourself a huge favor and check her out ASAP, whether you're going on vacation soon or feel you'll never venture outside of your town or city ever again.
Thanks for checking out my Top Ten Summer Reads! Are any of your favorites on this list, or did I miss something big? Let me know below, and be sure to include your link so I can check out your list, as well.
