Hello! I feel like it's been forever since I did a Top 5 Wednesday. In fact, the last time I posted one was over a month ago when I wrote about my favorite science fiction and fantasy covers.
I'm so glad to be back, especially with this week's topic: Our favorite side ships. What are your favorite relationships that do not include the protagonist?
My list this week includes pairs from both books and TV shows. None of the artwork is mine, though I wish!
Elide & Lorcan / Empire of Storms/Throne of Glass
I think their story was my favorite part of Empire of Storms, and I'm such trash for this ship. So much hate to love to hate and back again between them. Their relationship is so full of animosity and respect and tension and heartbreak and I absolutely cannot get enough.
Christina & Owen / Grey's Anatomy
I live to cry at Grey's Anatomy, and nothing gets me quite like Christina and Owen's story. They were both so wonderful and so terrible for each other.
Azriel & Elain / ACOWAR
Sure, sure, I know Elain's got a mate and all, but come on. I know I'm not in the minority here when I say that at least one of those three books that take place in the ACOTAR universe better be about Elain and Azriel.
Jesper & Wylan / Six of Crows
I haven't read Crooked Kingdom yet, but I loved Jesper and Wylan in Six of Crows so much, both as characters and as possible (and eventual? I believe) romantic interests.The banter! The wit! The surprise! Love it.
Brian & Angela / My So-Called Life
I know that Angela is technically a protagonist, but since Angela Chase & Jordan Catalano has always felt like the original OTP, I think this pairing probably counts as a side ship. I mean, honestly, neither Jordan nor Brian is that much of a catch, and I totally understand why 16-year-old Angela chooses to drive away with Jordan at the end of that one episode. I always had a soft spot for Brian anyway.
