Happy almost New Year! Today I'm starting a new feature where I'll write about three things that are making me happy this week. Sometimes we don't have the time, or inclination, to write out long reviews but still want to write about things we love. My posts may be about books, or bookish things, but may also just be people or things that are giving me life this week.
And today's also my birthday, and it's almost 2018, and I thought it would be a great time to reflect on the things I love and am thankful for. If you'd like to participate, please feel free to write your own post and add it to the comments, or just let me know!
1. Sweet Contemporaries & Sweet Friends
Mith from Biscotto's Books put Emma Mills on my radar this week, and I could not be more grateful. How did I live so long without these wonderful books in my life? I devoured each in about a day. They gave me all the feels, made me laugh out loud and also full-out cry. They're heartwarming, hilarious, fun, and everything everyone needs in their lives. Have you read them yet?
2. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
I've seen only the first two episodes, but I'm loving this show. My friend Danny began chatting this show up months ago, and then, in an unprecedented act, invited me to like it on Facebook. I still went into it having no idea what it was about. The first episode blew me away, and I said I'd watch the second while I was wrapping presents--but was mostly just glued to the TV.
3. Fujifilm Instax
Sam got me a Fujifilm Instax Mini 90 for my birthday, but gave it to me a little early so that I'd have it for the entire month, and I'm so glad he did. Now, I'm no photographer, but I love being able to have physical pictures from weekend getaways, friend gatherings, and family holidays. Bonus for making us all look like we're living in 1972.
