Top 5 Wednesday: Forgettable Books from 2017

Top 5 Wednesday from Goodreads

This weekly book meme is brought by Top 5 Wednesday on Goodreads.

Happy Wednesday! This week I'm writing about the those books I read in 2017 that just can't remember...

I have some friends who insist that they can never remember the plot of books or movies, or even TV shows, not even when they love them. They'll often remember a few key moments or characters, but not really what happens. I sympathize with them, but can't usually relate, at least not with the ones I enjoyed at least a little bit.

However, there are some books I read last year that I have almost no recollection of. This may be due to me reading a lot more than I have in the past, and also trying to plow through ARCs at some kind of turbo speed.

Did I love them? Maybe! Did I hate them? Who knows! Not me, cos I can't remember!

I'll be honest, this one was a little tricky to put together, and I had to dig back into the vault. I stuck with my 2017 reads because it feels most relevant, though there are certainly others I've read over the years that I'm having a hard time recalling.

Red Queen was a forgettable read of 2017
  • I remember mostly hate-reading this one

  • And I remember writing a review of it

  • But I don't remember much about it...which is maybe a good thing?

An Enchantment of Ravens was a forgettable read of 2017
  • I remember this is about an artist and a faerie

  • There's some weird marriage and a strange scene at the end

  • But that's it? I even liked this one (here's my Goodreads review...I guess I didn't write one for the blog, whoops)

Chasing Red was totally a forgettable read of 2017
  • I know I hated this one, and gave it a 1 star on Goodreads

  • But didn't even write a review for it

  • ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I wish I remembered more about Pipe Dreams by Sarina Bowen
  • I gave this one 3 stars on Goodreads???

  • But what is it about??

  • The synopsis sounds pretty good, apparently I read it in May

The Problem With Forever was a good read, but ultimately forgettable
  • I gave this one four stars AND wrote a review for it

  • And now I'm apologizing to all my friends who I give guff to for not remembering every detail of a thing.

  • Though, in my defense, the last line of the review says something like There is nothing surprising about this book

  • That's was me trying to be polite and still say, "There isn't much that's special about this."

Well, there you have it! Have you read and remembered any of these books?
