3 Things on Thursday #4

This past week has been full of winter weather! We had two snow days from work, on Friday and Tuesday (the office was just officially closed, but we worked from home), and the rest of the time was still spent at home for the most part because it was just so cold and gross. I've also still been getting over the flu that laid me out for about a week, so I wasn't up for too much generally. But here are the best three things about this week!

1. Books!

I guess I've begun starting off these posts with a quick recap of the books in my life. This past week I read just two books, and only one that I actually liked. One was so bad I don't even know if I'll be able to write a review. Like, y'all, it was so bad.

But the one I liked! I liked so much! Devil in Winter was my second Lisa Kleypas novel, and I can't wait to read more.

As far as my current reads, I am still reading the two books I was reading last week...Tess of the Road is slow going but captivating. And The Cruel Prince...it's just so good. I don't want it to be over. And it's almost over. I'm not happy about this.

And in other bookish news, a new round of #OTSPSecretSister opened up, and I spent time filling out my questionnaire. I'm so excited to be a secret sister for the next six months! Are you signing up, or are you interested? Sign ups are open until the 26th. Find out more here.

2. Movies and TV

When it's cold as hell outside, you stay warm and consume media! I'm all caught up on Star Trek: Discovery and Jesus Christ you guys. Is anyone else watching this??

Sam and I also ventured out into the world to the movie theater to see I, Tonya, and I'm so glad we did. It's sad, and funny, and infuriating, and an incredible look in how to do a movie filled with basically only unreliable narrators.

3. Smart Media

So many folks are talking about the news that broke this week about Aziz Ansari, and I've spent a lot of time reading about it, thinking about it, and talking with my friends about it. There have been quite a few pieces that I've absolutely hated, and even more comments that have had me boiling. But these two pieces have really gotten to what I think is so important about this story, and the reasons why I think it's so important to keep talking about it:

not that bad from KatyKatiKate

This Is Not a Sex Panic by James Hamblin

And there you have it, folks! Have any thoughts to share about any of the books, tv shows and movies, or articles I've mentioned here? Please let me know!
