This weekly book meme is brought by Top 5 Wednesday on Goodreads.
You know those books you super hate, but will end up just ranting about at the slightest provocation? Not the ones that are all eh, it was meh, whatever and you go on with your life, but the ones that you will make a dinner partner regret ever bringing up in passing because you just can't keep your mouth shut when it's brought up. That's what this week's Top 5 Wednesday is about. (Well, mine at least. Other folks might write about books they didn't really love, but will still discuss politely.)
Ugh, just looking at this cover makes me mad.
I hated this book and if you give me three minutes, I'll make you regret ever bringing it up in front of me.
I'm sorry in advance.
One summer, I had to teach this one in its entirety twice, to two different summer sessions.
I've never been so angry at students for not passing tenth grade English as I was that summer, or for teachers who made this book their required text.
I couldn't rant to the students about it (at least not the way I wanted to) so I had to rant about it to my friends.
Sorry, friends.
I've read this damn series more than once, and I've found myself unable to shut the hell up about it approximately 500 times more than I've read the series.
But also some of my best friendships have started by an hours-long debate about this series that ended with, "So, are we gonna go see New Moon when it comes out next week?"
(The answer was yes.)
I'm cutting this week's post off at 3 because that just feels polite. But if you wanna let me know what books you'll rant about for hours (or if you'd like to rant about any of these three books or series with me) then let me know below!
