#TBRtakedown 5.0: Recap!

I got the chance to participate in #tbrtakedown this month. I'd never been part of something like this before, and I had so much fun! You can check out the official Twitter account here.

The premise is pretty basic: You have 1 week to read 5 books on your TBR. Each of the books should fall in a certain category: one that's been on your list for ages, the first book of a series, and so forth (they're also listed on the main image).

I set my list out pretty hurriedly.

My list started out as:

Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling

Bright Smoke, Cold Fire by Rosamund Hodge

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

A Shadow Bright & Burning by Jessica Cluess

Dear Mr. M by Herman Koch

Well, my list went to shit pretty quickly.

Anyhow, I did end up reading 4 books during the week (and finished a 5th the day after it ended). And also worked about a million hours that week! I did manage to squeeze in a few weekend days to devote just to reading, which are the best kind of days.

Here's what I read for my first #tbrtakedown.

In my mind, Anna and the French Kiss replaced Bright Smoke, Cold Fire, so I really see it as hitting 3 out of 5. I threw Grin & Beard It because I saw it pop up on someone's feed and it sounded so goofy I couldn't help myself. I also wrote about recently on my Valentine's Edition of Top 10 Tuesday.

Did you participate in #tbrtakedown this time around, or have you ever? How do you make it through your TBR, or are you like me and just keep throwing more on it?

If you've written your own #tbrtakedown recap, I'd love to read it! Let me know by hollering at me on Twitter or shooting me an email at whatshesread @ gmail.
