Top 5 Wednesday: Angels & Demons

October 18, 2017

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly book meme brought by T5W on Goodreads.

Happy Wednesday! This week, we're continuing our month-long trek through haunted/spooky/paranormal Top 5 Wednesday posts with a post honoring our favorite personal paranormal characters.

Technically, you're supposed to choose one, but sometimes I have a hard time following rules and, also, I don't know how you can have angels without demons. I feel like they are often sort of a package deal.

With that said, not all of the books or series in this post will have both angels and demons--there is a stronger focus here on the demons. (And no, you won't find Fallen on here, though also know that, of course, I've read all of them--for better or for worse.)

“Once upon a time, an angel and a devil fell in love.
It did not end well.”

Agh, probably my favorite series of all time. Such gorgeous writing and unbelievable worlds. Be still my heart.

I first read this series at a time when I was foregoing buying most physical books, but now I'm on a mission to get all the kinds of copies of this series I can.

Is this series trash? Sometimes I think it may be, but I don't even care. I love it so much. Sons and daughters of angels and demons and of course our heartthrob is the son of the Duke of LUST. I don't know if I've ever really jumped on a book-boyfriend bandwagon, but I'll just say I follow Kaidan Rowe on Twitter and leave it at that...

I haven't finished reading The Hearts We Sold yet, but I love the portrayal of demons here. They don't want your soul--they just want some body part. So gross and creepy.

In Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days #1), the angels might as well be the demons, because they are the enemy. You have warrior angels kidnapping little kids, one badass heroine, and another angel looking for his wings...

No angels here, but demons for sure. The Valg are not just in Queen of Shadows, but if you're a fan of the series, then you know why I chose this one out of all the others.

What do you think? Did I leave out some of your favorite angels and demons? Let me know below!
